Surya Namaskara --> Sun Salutation

Physical benefits of Sun Salutations

Sun Salutations (there are 2 types of Sun Salutations in Ashtanga yoga) is a sequence of 12 yoga postures. In Ashtanga yoga Surya Namaskara A and B are done at the beginning of practice one after the other 3 or 5 times each.  If the sequences are done fast it is a good cardiovascular exercise. If they are done slowly the sequence helps to tone muscles and can become as a meditation tool.
